UPDATE: I have revised my search engine use with different results. This is because of the way Google uses search engine history to list and feature results which skews the data for a website developer like myself. Thus the changes. That's the skinny.

Search Engine Optimization is not rocket science. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It simply is deliberate, well thought out strategy.

This website is RUNNING as a DEMONSTRATION SITE. Peruse the site contents although you will not find much content. Learn more about the CMSimple CMS backend and more about me at William Brandes Consulting.

If you are paying MORE THAN $200 a YEAR after the website is created, you are paying too much. Way too much. You might be running a charity BUT NOT that kind of charity.

Some website developers might talk of plans as low as $50 per year. Then they add on other fees such as domain cost and maintenance. Look closely. I include EVERYTHING in a yearly subscription of $195 per year.

Then also take a look at that hosting. Some of the rhetoric is an outright lie. Alot of them say UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH. Don't be mislead. If you are on a shared server, $50 WILL NOT ALLOW suitable capacity for AUDIO DOWNLOADS let alone STREAMING of MEDIA CONTENT. Just ain't possible. Your site will have a bandwidth quota. Exceed it in a certain length of time ....... and, folks will not be able to access the site for a certain length of time. So, if you hear this RUN AWAY FAST. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.

FREE stuff? CLUE? Get a FREE channel on You Tube. I have one.

However, I am working with my new CANON all digital camcorder (no tapes, no hard drive , just removal memory card) which shoots in MOV HD. This required me to find a good editor/file converter allowing transfer of files to DVD, the WEB (SWF) or other media. HOORAY. I found a great program through that DOES ALL OF THIS. Interested. Alot of the WOW is simply design skills. Check out a unique template by me for another DEMO SITE using FREE Blogger. Probably doesn't look like any Blogger site you have seen. I'm a can-do kinda guy.

Why? Because almost all of the programs used for online maintenance and editing of a website are FREELY offered General Public License programs. That includes WordPress, Joomla, PHPWebsite, Simple Machine. Drupal. B2Evolution, XOOPS and many more. What you need is someone that is honest enough to find out what YOU really require in a website. Not a bundle of items that YOU WILL FIND time-consuming AND NOT effective. But, what you will use? What fills your requirements? No more and no less.

I see alot of church websites underutilized because of the obvious (time constraints) for updating unless of course you plan on having one person dedicated FULL TIME to keeping that website fresh. So, SIMPLE works and works well.

My former home church Claridon Congregational United Church of Christ (I have left it intact within a directory for demonstration purposes) used CMSimple (even though I have worked with dozens of programs and could use anything) as the back end editing engine and YOUR church can do the same. The entry pages and template design are my doing. The rest is out of the box wonderful coding allowing you to edit and write content to the site online. In fact, everything you see on this page can be edited. The stylesheet, The configuration, The template or frame around editable content boxes to the left and center where this writing sits. There is image uploading from your desktop. Same with other files such as PDF and WORD that are placed in a download directory which you can link too. Text and images are inserted into the page at will.

You can also create new links and add them to the SITE DIRECTORY with ease. In fact, sublinks cascading through 3 additional levels if need be. See the bottom of this page (or indented link under About Us in the SITE Directory to the left) if you want to READ MORE.
